Sayed Imbichi Koya Thangal, who migrated to Mannarkad from Malapuram in 1935, was famous in the fields of social, religious and cultural activities; moreover he was well-versed and had a natural skill in ayurvedic treatment of diseases, using the medicinal raw-materials and methods available in the countryside. He was born in Kizhakkepurathu Family belonging to the famous Bukhari Thangal race in a place called Kalpakancheri in Malapuram district of Kerala. Sayed Imbichi Koya Thangal introduced Unani treatment in Mannarkad. He had sufficient knowledge and a rare skill in making medicines on his own; and he himself distributed them inside and outside Kerala. His relatives who reached Mannarkad as his successors - Pookoya Thangal (his sister’s son) and Seethi Koya Thangal (his brother’s son) prospered as his disciples in ayurvedic treatment. Pookoya Thangal became very famous in successful treatment of diseases as well as in the sale of effective medicines. The ‘Vaidyasalas’ or Ayurvedic Treatment Centres of Mannarkad are still run by the successors of Imbichi Koya Thangal. Infact they form part of some of the famous Vidyasalas in Palakkad district. As the demand increased, there was need for a new development in the production of ayurvedic medicines. The birth of AYURJANA AYURVEDICS – a harmonious blend of tradition, quality and honesty - was a dream come true in this regard. AYURJANA AYURVEDICS which was inaugurated on September 23, 2004 has successfully completed two years in the field of medicine production. The demand for AYURJANA’s medicines are on the rise in the context of the abiding virtues of quality, honesty and service-mindedness which it has naturally acquired from a family having a tradition of 75 years of effective ayurvedic treatment. The time has come to widen the reach of AYURJANA. We have decided to increase the production of our medicines and open twenty-five new shops for the sale of medicines. |
